I've noticed while playing with CPU-Z opened that my CPU is constantly changing core speed by changing the multiplier often. I've noticed when I am moving around a lot/panning camera a lot the CPU goes max but when I'm standing still it bumps back down to a lower frequency. I have every possible setting maxed (shadows is the frame-rate killer) and have good frames when the CPU is at max setting but when it downclocks it gets choppy for a few seconds.
I don't think the CPU is overheating (HWMonitor shows mid-50's for the CPUs). My power settings has the CPU megged at minimum frequency 100% and max 100%. Any ideas why my CPU speed is down-clocking when system demand is lower and then upping itself when its high?
