I think some of the hotter heads should remember three key points:
- this is Rogean's house, we're just guests: if eliminating edit functionality saves any staff member even five minutes of effort then Rogean has every right to do so
- this thread is on page 6 in the technical forum: clearly this issue matters to the community, and no one (staff or otherwise) can miss that
- Rogean isn't some random jerk: he's the guy who built multiple servers, organized a gang of staff and developers, and invested a significant amount of his own time and money just so that thousands of people he's never met could play a 15+ year old game
So appreciate what you have with #1, realize that staff are aware because #2, and trust that they will do the right thing because of point #3 ... even if the right thing turns out to be leaving edit disabled. |
I agree 100%, and immensely appreciate what Rogean and the staff here do and provide to the community free of charge.
With that said I jokingly made a comment making light of someone making weakly veiled threats that I felt were a bit of an over reaction to a comment that was obviously made in good humor and to make a point... and that could just as easily been chuckled at and ignored.
