I'm running a single gtx 980 and the i5 4670K CPU (generation before your 4690k). My CPU runs @ 3.4ghz but the MSI motherboard BIOS just sets the CPU automatically to 3.9ghz (the CPUs turbo boost speed).

A 4690k and gtx 970 should be able to run just about any game on the market at 60+FPS, ultra graphics settings, and 1080p resolution.
That last tidbit just made my day. I got the 970 because I wanted something that would last a few years.. and because I am way too pumped for Battlefront and NEED to crank those graphics on that for sure. I'll probably go with some MSI mobo and the 4690k. It looks like it's right in my price range. =D
