This item should be expendable for the lifetime of the server. You happen to mis click it twice and use both Supernova charges, it poofs. Evidence:

Dont use the charges its expendable, youll have your little fun then your best range slot item in the game for tanks will disapear. Dont even use one you never know when you might accidently click it again this effect was put here for cruelty, I can not think of a time when i would want to use it.
