Nevermind. The confusion came because I thought you knew what martyred meant. My fault.

Neither JFK nor MLK were martyrs. Posterity has, in many ways, chosen to link the death of Martin Luther King with the dire need of civil rights equality, but he was not a martyr.
I'm still not sure what you think JFK died championing.
