This thread is a wonderful display of how crappy people are. Some of these comments are pathetic.

Or it is a display of how people are naturally suspicious of random people telling sob stories on the internet, and rightfully so. This guy made this post hoping to illicit sympathy by pulling on our heart strings - whether his story is true or not doesn't change the fact that the manner he went about discussing this subject was a manipulative appeal to the communities' emotions. Anyone who has spent even a minimal amount of time online has likely been contacted by numerous Nigerian princes, knows a handful of navy seals, and had friends who've collectively suffered from every ailment known to modern medical science.
People don't like being manipulated, especially when it comes to unverifiable stories told online attempting to justify misbehavior. There is a petition forum where he could have handled with the staff in private, but this guy decided to try his case in the court of public opinion, and the court has regretfully found his case lacking.
