Does anyone have something on this? I heard this a lot on live about the "soft cap" but it was wrong then. I just wonder if it's wrong here also. Some parsed dmg or anything like that?

There's older stuff, maybe on bugs forum, but they've made changes since using velious beta server as a testbed along the way.
Softcap on live was very real, eventually detailed info showed up. IIRC, there were class-based hardcaps during classic until some point in Velious (or maybe Kunark, lol, been so long) when they reworked AC with a softcap system that allowed adding AC over the "cap" to still give some benefit. At some later time (again, iirc) they made shield AC ignore the softcap as a sop to knights, but that might not have been until PoP. As things are here and now, if you want to minmax it is probably best to have both high HP and high AC gear and swap depending on group makeup (i.e. Cleric healer go HP, otherwise go AC.)
RNG is super streaky, so don't trust a feel you get from one nights grinding. Eventually some poor masochist, er, I mean community minded soul will parse enough data to draw solid conclusions about the value of AC on p99. Haynar (a dev who works on the p99 combat system) has recommended AC strongly, but so far parses I've seen don't bear that out.
On the OP's specific question, the 10mr on the SSB is enough to push it over the Cobalt anytime MR matters, unless you're among the 1% that can swap in a Tranix crown.
