id say gfay area def most populated for newbies.
EC tunnel doesn't exist... use ooc for trading and meet up with the person.
nfp, rv, neriak decent trade areas, not so much for leveling
low classes at end game are mage , necro, pally, ranger, sk, cleric
however, dont let that dictate what you decide to play, play whatever you like the most that will make you stick around
