Yes, the cat would be but this is a thought experiment so no real cats were harmed.
More seriously though, you are right. That is why Erwin Schrödinger proposed it in the first place. To illustrate the problems with the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics when applied to ordinary stuff like cats.
