It's a very cool thing Quido. It looks like there's some attempt to reduce abuse by preventing people from killing volunteers repeatedly to boost their totals.
I never paid much attention to the leaderboards back in the day because I wasn't a pker. I just happened to play on the pvp servers. However, it was a fun thing to look at occasionally. I was much more into the eqplayers and mageloa... looking at stats and keeping up on who's playing. It was an awesome thing to be able to do when you weren't playing.
I think many of the modern games frown on leaderboards and and stuff like them because carebears hate competition. They all want to be winners and don't know how to lose. They start losing and they break up like spoiled child, not able to accept their place.
I'll give clue how to deal with losing: don't participate. That's what I did. I said I wasn't a pker, but it's more than that. I alwost NEVER killed anybody else. I was a ranger always running. Some of my best memories are being in crystal caverns and using the maze-like tunnels to escape. Escaping was my art. It was my fun. I was that guy who saw hte raider in the group and didn't get jealous. I drooled maybe. Same thing when a pker killed me. I got made for a few minutes and moved on. Some players couldn't move on. They'd go on OOC and forums and cry like baby.
