You can still be interrupted by stuns as an ogre, you just don't get stunned. Try it, stand against a wall, and if a monster bashes you while casting, it will have a chance of interrupting the spell you're on, even though you don't move, or are pushed.
Additionally, its also about optimization. A mob only bashes what, every 52 seconds when slowed? Not worth the loss in regen or snare neck.

^this, but really just play what you want. Any Shammy is deadly.
I find that my Ogre Shadow Knight is constantly getting interrupted. That made it easy for me to choose Troll when I rolled my Shammy alt. Free "innate Fungi Tunic" by 60, what's not to like?
And if my Ogre SK happens to have a corner handy (he often doesn't), then that helps a
little on the interruptions, but that's true with any race. He still gets interrupted plenty.
