goonswarm will not let you in on the real pvp unless you have a supercap, its like all null sec alliances, an inner circle and blobs of shitbags they throw at enemy fleets...

I saw plenty of PvP - being in a capital ship is a quick way to ensure you do NOT see PvP.
I will agree though, yes, Null Sec Alliances are all about the select few Fleet Commanders who lead an army (including you) of about a thousand into battle and you're essentially on the frontlines.
