I have no idea about Velious and I have no idea how to properly document things, however, I was raiding Klandicar with some other AGs and I noticed that once I was feared I had the ability to direct my character any way I wanted and it gave the fear a sort of kickback. You can hold your movement arrow the opposite direction of the way fear is taking you and you can halt your moving a bit.
