He kinda trusted you to honor a deal. You had no intention to do so kinda just says more about you game or not. You can say more about yourself by giving it back and letting him walk away with a lesson learned and you can walk away knowing you did the right thing.
It's really on you tho. I'm sure most of us are not goin to care much either way.
