In all fairness to Windows though, you aren't running a standard instance of it, and extra things need to load (virtual drivers for one) for Windows to start. You may also have more programs loading at startup, etc. There are many variables that make this test moot.
I've only been a Mac owner for a little over a month, but personally I already dislike the OS (it has no real value to me), but I absolutely love my physical machine. Yes you are right, but I start the timing on after I choose the boot from the boot menu. The only thing Win 7 has to start up is the essentials, it's a builders copy so it has no crap ware, plus boot camp. Compared to my desktop it may, MAY add an extra 5 seconds, regardless it's still way slower to load than OSX. There are no "virtual drivers." I'm just loading the real drivers that run the hardware, and make windows start it. It's not like trying to make a hackintosh where you have to get OSX to bypass the fact that there's a chip in the hardware.
Like I said I still prefer to game on my desktop. I use a 20.1" monitor which I prefer over my 15" laptop.
