I mean I'm not sure what I believe on the boston bombing and shit like that but I do know without a doubt that the government has carried out countless operations that had no problem killing innocent people, evading their privacy, funding militant projects that are committing genocide to earn more money, and these are indisputable facts.
I would never recruit, I just know that you cannot trust your own government and human nature is typically shit. Out of all the government officials someone is always going to be corrupt, especially when it comes to money and power. The best plan of action is to spread word of mouth, hopefully the more people that realize our government isn't here to exactly benefit all the people in the United States but more of the elite few. Our Federal Reserve is privately funded for God's sake. I don't think myself or anyone else is "scared", its more of tactics and being smart. You know the Government is one of the most powerful, if not more powerful source in the world. It takes money and more of the public as one standing up against the government for anything effective, which most people are too stupid to see the difference or simply are too content with living a shitty life and don't comprehend freedom. When the government is telling you when you have to contribute, how you have to contribute, influencing media, politics, drafting people in previous wars, storing all your information, you really don't have freedom do you?
But for now, the smartest option is to try and decipher between truth and fiction for yourself. For me, I try to stay low key, I have no affiliation with any political branches nor give a shit about current political leaders. I make sure I never have any run ins with any government officials, I spread word of mouth to other people I know and take in their opinions on the matter. If a time came where there was an uprising and the government came in to take all freedoms away, I would do what I felt necessary. It really has nothing to do with being scared but being smart and this isn't the movies where some dude pops up and kills the whole corrupt government and has a coup. You have to bide time, and hope that the people don't trust the government anymore and want a change. And yes, I do agree that most likely that if this government was ever overthrown or another form of government was established then it would have corrupt people too and before long, it would be a similar situation. Majority of governments are corrupt, bottom line and human nature is shit.
Ill leave you with a line from one of my favorite movies, Killing them Softly-
My friend, Thomas Jefferson is an American saint because he wrote the words 'All men are created equal', words he clearly didn't believe since he allowed his own children to live in slavery. He's a rich white snob who's sick of paying taxes to the Brits. So, yeah, he writes some lovely words and aroused the rabble and they went and died for those words while he sat back and drank his wine and fucked his slave girl. This guy wants to tell me we're living in a community? Don't make me laugh. I'm living in America, and in America you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business. Now fuckin' pay me.
