No way around it, this was about as bad as a game launch can get. My personal favorite was fucking with the authentication servers Monday night and causing massive lag in-game due to network changes in preparation for the free to play launch yesterday. Nothing like fucking paying customers out of head start time to prep for the Chinese gold farmers.
But if you remember back in the day, EverQuest had one of the worst game launches in the history of MMORPGs when not only way the game borderline unplayable with 500+ pings and 30-40% packet loss for the first week, but they destroyed the internet in the San Diego area by overloading it.
