He was pretty good defensively. But hitting? No. Not really.

Hits: 2,386. Less than 160 per year =not great
RBI: 1,061. Right at 70 per year =not great
Home runs: 282. Right at 19 per year. Not bad for a second baseman, but not great.
Batting Average: .285= not great
One of those stats better be up with the greats if you're going to be considered great.
