I've had no issues with the eqred99 files.

Yes, AVG "detected a virus" in a .DLL file included in the eqred99 download. AVG also "detected a virus" in the SAME file in the "Project 1999 Files v33' download.

For that matter, AVG "detected a virus" at the login prompt when I tried to run WinEQ 2, which I installed straight from the download off the Lavishsoft website and had not yet pointed at the Project 1999 install directory.

AVG is really good at generating false positives, and I got the same false positives from Avast on another computer. In fact, many "heuristic" virus detections (often denoted by "HEUR" at the front of the name) are not actually viruses. Heuristic detection essentially says "this file acts like it might be a virus, so it's been blocked just in case".
