Honestly, the above is your best bet. Go to Chardok. Ask if you can loot research pages off their train. Let them pick the corpses clean of gems and jewelry, then go to town looting all the research pages you need. People also often leave spells on the corpses. You could likely pick up splurt and a few other good spells while there.
