Daldaen, I have a few questions about charming in Kedge.

What level can you start without doing a ridiculous amount of snaring, zoning, etc.?

Do you have two fight, then break when both are low and nuke/dot to death or do you buff/thorns one and have him go to town?
You need to do lots of snaring/zoning until 44ish. Then you can do the 2nd floor mobs though it's pretty tough at that level.

The snare/zoning is mostly for 1st room from 30-40. Because there are 7 swordfish in there and they are sort of annoying to pull. You can use Lull/Calm Animal on them to break the room as well.

Here is a PM I sent someone who asked some similar questions:

Drop down any yea the 2nd floor is where you will want to practice. Splitting it is the challenging part, once it's split it's no problem.

2nd floor has 2-4 piercer swordfish, 1 Pirahna, 1 shark. Also in the bottom pit there are two Pirahnas. Those will not aggro unless your charmed pet crosses over them, if you keep your charmed pet from crossing over the center of the room those Pirahnas will stay down there. Leading to an easy 2-kill once the room is broken.

As for the main room, all the mobs mentioned (other than the 2 pit Pirahnas) roam. The piercers roam through the center of the room. The Pirahna roams from the West room to just in front of the South room (straight line). The shark roams from the north room to just in front of the East room (straight line). The way they path, they will both get into their respective rooms (west for Pirahna and north for shark), which allows you to position yourself in the south room and charm a piercer. You then want to drop down the tube in that south room and spam /pet back. This will drag your pet and another 1-2 piercers into a safe room.

Root them. When your pet is low on HP, break charm and kill him. Repeat until they are all dead. Then you can go up and charm the roaming Pirahna and have it kill the roaming shark. Then you can charm 1 of the two Pirahnas in the pit and have it kill the other. (For pit Pirahnas I suggest /pet backing them so they are in the main room of 2nd floor. If you leave them in pit and try to cast they will continue to hit you even though they are 100ft bellow you in the water.

After that if you go into the south room again and look up, you can go into another room. Up there there's 3 mobs. Either 3 Pirahnas or 2 Pirahnas and a mermaid. Mermaid is always in the center on the rock. Then there's always a Pirahna to the right and one in the ceiling that you won't see til it aggros you.

When doing this room with a mermaid up its tricky, since you will have to root the mermaid to start, then root one of the Pirahnas, backup again and charm the last pirahna. Then send it on the mermaid. The mermaid will almost always win the fight so you'll have to break your pet, kill it, charm the other rooted Pirahna and send it on the mermaid to finish her.

A few general tips of kedge.

Max swimming
Try to find an EB item. While casting EB every 30min isn't so bad, it is extremely handy to have one less thing to worry about. Fishbone Earringg is the best option currently.
Keep yourself buffed with SLN+Chloro/Regrowth at all times. It will save your life.
Scout out what I described while invis before trying. Specifically the pathing in the 2nd floor main room.
Keep EVERYTHING rooted. If a mob breaks root at 10%, don't assume your pet will hold long enough to finish it. It is almost always a good idea to reroot in that case. Only exception to this is your pet. It is usually much safer to engage a room by charming a mob and then letting stuff attack your pet while you root.
Buy a Goblin Gazughi Ring if you try this and find you like it or at the very least you like the exp. Having instant invis to break charms makes this way easier. Plus in kedge Invis v Animals works for everything except mermaids (so basically everything you're killing), which is nice. Costs about 5k, it's worth every plat.

If fights are looking lopsided you can use ES Vambraces to equalize them somewhat. But other than that, the only spells you should be casting are roots, charms, and invis. As well as rebuffing and healing as needed. Don't try to cast DoTs or Nukes during a normal experience rotation. At the end of the night or finishing off the last mob of a respawn sure. But otherwise you will be wasting mana and being less efficient than you could be.
