i just realized something about rangers. ranger is the only class that can do decent ranged dps on a mob without breaking root. this might seem like a minimal bonus but if shit hits the fan and you need to root a mob to prevent wipe, ranger can easily save the day.
seems like a very circumstantial argument, but useful nonetheless.
