Rangers are really good actually... on ez server. All they need is AM3 and a 145dmg / 20 dly bow.
Rangers in kunark with their epics are quite beasty too. Slow, and good dmg / dly on the weps.
Generally the case with them is, they're useful in many situations, but never essential in any situation
