Nothing is unplayable, but there's certainly a ladder of difficulty. Enchanters struggle to land spells as everyone gears for magic resistance. Rangers aren't terrible but they struggle too.
Wizard or druid would help you get around and they do well in pvp (I leveled a DE wizard naked and made it to 49 no problem), necros can level naked and be fine but not the best for pvp (fear isn't usable). Shaman life is similar to necro in the sense that yellow text isn't easy to come by, people tend to zone before they die [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Rapture almost never fails to land, though, and in organized PVP that's just absolutely brutal (also having rogues / monks stay strapped with VOG / SOS is nice)
