You should be fine. I play on windows 7 64-bit with a quad core with no issues at all. In fact, I occasionally play on the PEQ server with 3-4 instances of eq running with little slowdown. Its usually best to run as administrator in windows 7 but its given me no grief yet.
However, I've also heard that there might be some stuttering with multi-core AMD processors (I use intel) but I believe there is a fix for it posted in the forums.
