Just because there are sports with harsher physical contact doesn't invalidate the point. Risk of physical injury is important when determining a sport's ability to hold interest. Yes, there are sports more interesting than American football. Soccer, however, is deservedly weakened by the facts that there is little physical contact/injury and the long, long stretches of time between scores. Watching a ball shouldn't be the end-all-be-all of holding a person's interest.
But even soccer is more interesting than many sports.

This is kind of what I'm saying. Physical contact shouldn't really matter in determining how could a sport is (in fact it's your opinion on how good a sport is anyway) but people will always force their opinions on others...
It doesn't take a genius to understand that soccer is hardly about scoring goals, but rather about maintaining possession and building up to the point of a shot or goal that can often times be the most exciting. Take the 6 or 7 pass gif earlier that lead up to a goal for example. The final pass into the goal was a mere 10 feet out and was a tap in, but the sweet passes leading up to that just made it pretty. This isn't like football where a single pass to a single guy who then runs the ball to one direction.
I understand where the impatience can come from watching soccer, but if you know the game it's all really actually exciting. Same could be said for me and my lack of football. In the end it's all a matter of opinion, I'm not going to force it on you but just state how I feel about it.
