The idea of a random bonus boss mob to emulate a patch day shows promise. Making it a FFA boss still requires some form of rudimentary rules (first to mobilize = first to engage etc..).. else we're back on square one where bonus mobs would also get rotated (or feel that 14 day ban).... Could go back to Nizzarr's old suggestion (which WAS awesome). Rotation, 1 hour to engage & kill upon spawn. If they don't, it's rotated through the people waiting.
Ex: Server goes down, Naggy pops. Divinity shows up and prepares to woop ass. They engage, Rhalous trains spiders & beetles on raid. Divinity wipes (1h has elapsed). IB has been waiting at Trannix spawn (with a group of 14+), run up, engage. Naggy summons clerics because tanks are AFK, IB wipes. Trans comes up next, because they got there right after IB (with a force of 14+). They engage, and kill.
Now.. Naggy goes back to rotation. (omg and we just had CLASSIC competition!).
Imo.. Spawns on server down is 100% classic, and a VERY CLASSIC part of raiding back in the day. (and lets face it, the server doesn't go down once every hour like it used to, so it's not like there will be a TON of spawns)
