This is what happens when you use brain dumps to pass networking certs.

Keep going Syft, you're making for some good laughs. A CCNP referring to a "steady" connection to a game server as anything but a constant flow of packets has me snickering. The length of time you're connected to our server doesn't magically change the information sent in the packets - there isn't some buildup of info that we can eventually use to track you. This isn't the movies!

In any case, Syft, you can argue all you want but the bottom line is I currently GM on this server and have access to all of the relevant tables in our database that track connections. As far as our servers are concerned, your IP and our involvement with you end at the VPN. Like someone was explaining (and like I tried to briefly explain, but probably wasn't detailed enough), the old header with the source IP (your computer) is discarded when it reaches the VPN. There is no trace of your home IP in the packet header we receive on our end.

That being said, we have other ways to identify who is who. But it's not always 100% and some people have gotten very good at avoiding it. Consequently, I've gotten very good at seeing through that and finding people anyway =P but it takes time and knowing what to look for. It's not automatic.
