Trolls can try to start a sex chat, be inflammatory, or insulting. Their goal is basically just to harass you. That is what fuels them.
Here are specific steps you can take to keep trolls away:
Start a chat in a friendly and warm way, but do not have your guards down until after you discover that the person is genuinely seeking help. This happens the vast majority of the time. However, there are times when trolls behave inappropriately. We do not want you to be caught off guard.
Immediately hit the “ignore” button and block the user. This allows GMs to mark this individual and take away their ability to harass other listeners moving forward.
Please recognize that it is not at all appropriate for you to ever be spoken to in an insulting or sexual manner. Simply end the chat as soon as possible.
