They exist but only ones I have seen are in the park cities where I grew up. (Beverly Hills of Dallas) one of my friends dads had a full on parking garage and wine cellar basement which was pretty sick lol. I don't think there was much clay in their area though, looked more like flagstone.

But yes it's rare in Dallas or other parts of Texas, no real need for basements anyways.
