Looking at code for this. I think its because a mob does not update its z pos all the time when moving. So when the target'd AE hits, the mobs z might be still scaling between points. Rather than updating actual z.
Will see if i can force a position update in there somewhere, to make sure the z is correct when it hits. Might fix it.
