These drops only stick around for 7min, and are in high demand. I doubt you'll see any pieces but rot pieces (which does happen). Your best bet is to hang around the lair until he dies and making an offer on looting rots. Otherwise, there's just no logistical way to get you back there fast unless you happen to find a mage doing him.
