I was never hardcore which may be the reason I'm having trouble remembering the game. Anyway after WoW came out searching "Tanaris" in google was hopeless and "Infantry" is too loose a search term...

It was spelled Tanarus. Another Verant gem from back in the day. Haven't thought about it in quite some time, I played it a bunch back then though.
