If me and a group of friends can produce a product that is better, more efficient and more desirable than another company, what stops us from delivering that product to the public for profit other than the miles of red tape in the way put there by corporations who lobby to have laws passed to stop competition?

yet another argument against world government. I read an article a few years back in the Economist about the 4 different ways the future could go. They were all pretty dystopic except the one where life remained as is, spread out across sovereign nation states with their own local policies. It was the one with the most technological advancement.
