People would still have the freedom to shit up those channels but maybe having them labeled for specific use would help some. Along with week long suspensions when abused if GMs did happen to be on when it happened. Right now /OOC invites all kinds of conversations and with so much tension/hate among guilds it is inevitable for it to escalate. If you suspended people for any type of off subject chat, good or bad, it would hopefully change.
I know you mentioned it would be optional to have up but on a PvP server the lfg channel is almost a must so you know where people are to group with or PvP against.
Auction kind of the same deal, I wouldn't want to ever miss out on seeing what the game economy is doing.
