Actually, it is about land. They specifically said, "They just want to be able to graze their cattle where their ancestors could." What they meant to say is for free. But you said the government has a purpose for the land and that's why you think this action is justified. I'm just asking you what purpose the government has for the land and why they can't just use it? I haven't watched this closely since I don't give a shit about a farmer in Nevada, but the rumors I have heard involve a solar power station. So the question then becomes, if the government owns the land, and wants to put a solar power station there, why not just do it? As I understand it, we're talking about something like 1000 sq miles. I suspect they aren't going to fill more than 0.01% of that with whatever it is they are going to build.
The truth is, it's not about what the government wants to do with the land. It's about the government wanting to raise revenue from the land, which is land they don't really have much of a use for otherwise. I don't hold a strong opinion either way as to the validity of this, but don't pretend like this guy is keeping the government from using their own land.
