Of course not, and it shows clearly the government escalated the violence first, but that's the only thing we can actually take from there. The entire background of the story is basically untouched. If it's true the BLM made 98% of all Ranchers shut down their business, one has to wonder what the motivation behind that is - and don't tell me it's some stupid mojave desert tortoise, no one believes that.
However, if Bundy really is one out of hundreds and he's the only one not paying the fee while the others do and still make a profit (another claim I've read was that the fee ate up all his profits, that's why he stopped paying as well, also unverified) then it's really a completely different scenario.

I've read articles from other sources too, that Bundy actually is the last rancher in the area now, cause the Federal Land Grab is trying to clear everyone out. One of the reasons is, there's a major military installation in the area, and other reasons have something to do with China buying up land for God knows what. I can't say I fully understand the govt's motives, but the people are not in the wrong here, that much I do understand!
