Scientists are all like "We may not know everything about the universe, but we are trying to not make assumptions based on what we want to be true" - The actual scientists that is. Not the pseudo scientists.
Creationists/Intelligent Designers are all like "It must be this way because it was handed down to us over the course of thousands of years from human beings that didn't understand how the natural world around them worked."
It could very well be that a being similar to a god will be proven by scientific theory in the future. Just because it can't now, doesn't mean that science is invalid as a whole.
