As an outsider who thinks competition in a PvE game is stupid as hell, yet a minority of the population insists that it happens, I'm wondering why a merger with anyone was a necessity? What was wrong with 3 guilds competing when competition is what those three guilds claimed to want?

FE has/had no leadership capable of competing in a class C environment. I do like a lot of FE members, but without leeching off IB or TMO leadership, they'd have to go to class R.
