player attrition has much more to do with exp, mechanics, and the overall playability of red than ooc, one cannot engage in a serious conversation about player retention as it pertains to a chat box when the overall gaming experience is so poor at the moment. i have faith the devs will address this, but until the population is raised via other fixes, improvements, etc global ooc will be necessary, for better or worse.

if the devs offer some sort of augmentation to player chat in concert with a suite of other changes to improve ones ability to group, pvp etc, then i'm all for it. as it currently stands, the sub 50 population (i.e. the players we should be trying to retain, and the type we should trying to attract) are soloing mobs in empty zones, i know I'd personally hate to engage in this with absolutely zero outside contact. As you said Telron, this is an MMO, and player interaction is the cornerstone of this genre, and on a pvp server one presumably is knowingly signing up for a bit of negative interaction as well.

A pvp server is not this.

I think as the server CURRENTLY stands in terms of population and the rate of progression, removal of ooc as something to, at the very least look at while medding, would do more damage than good. Its cliche, but there is a certain amount of truth that goes with saying that if someone has such thin skin that ooc offends them to the point of quitting, I'm not sure they could survive being a level 52 and engaging in post PnP era pvp, either.
