I never defended a person who gambled their life savings away. But you can't really call his family victims without completely destroying the meaning of the word "victim". It's not that your point is too complex for anyone to understand, it's simply that you're wrong in believing your personal definition of the word victim means anything to anyone other than yourself.
What makes you the final word on who's been hurt enough to qualify as for victimhood? Grow up. The world is bigger than you(although not by much because I can tell you're very fat).
