Since the written word is an indication of the speech, how a word sounds (without pattern recognition) is a viable way to communicate an idea.
Notice how the spelling, whether a typo or not, is still spelled accurate to the sound it would make.
Classic genetic inherited visual acuity which of course affects...pattern recognition.
