So I had some down time with my main camped out in TD awaiting dragon loots so I gave Rolfrom a whirl.
Overall I found it pretty entertaining. It's definitely a mix of old (pre kunark levels/spells, mostly items) and new (I noticed shamans get spells every level like it is on live now, instead of having "spell levels").
Melee seems...different. With a 5 damage weapon at level 12 I'm hitting for 18-20 and critting for 40 (warrior). The swing and miss% seems very unclassic - mobs and players alike connect on almost every swing at least at my level.
As for the boxing element, not sure how I feel quite yet. It's certainly nice to be able to run my barbarian shm/war combo to eliminate down time, but maybe the biggest benefit is the biggest drawback. I just felt no need to group up with the exp rate already high. I also had a very funny PVP encounter with another 2-boxer who was playing an erudite ench/wiz near blackburrow tunnel...eventually he started zone hopping and I was able to hold down both sides of the zoneline on my own. Shaman melee skills netted me my first YT. :P
I also ran into devnoob in Halas putting in a TL for a GM event for the neutral team. I've heard some bad things said about him but he seemed like a cool guy. Unfortunately I got my shaman ported over to Faydwer for a GM event and soulbound in butcher...but my warrior was left behind. I could likely reroll a new character and level up in less time it takes to reunite them, lol. Or just delevel myself to 10 and take the TL.
The level caps are kinda cool too. It makes it easy to play casually and try out a lot of different combos. In the end though I can't really see myself playing here "full time". More of a break from the grind on R99.
