I used to play 2nd edition about 15 years ago, recently played a few sessions of 4E at a game store(11 players...3 hours = one fight encounter)....
I recently bought Aces and Eights and it is by far the most detailed and complex rule system I've ever dealt with. It took a solid 5 hours to roll up some characters even with extensive DnD knowledge, and that's not even finishing off background history and explanation for certain skills, quirks, and flaws.
It's definitely worth a gander if you have any interest in a tabletop RPG based on an alternate USA old west history.

That actually sounds interesting. I was a ADnD 2 fan and thought the base 20 stuff to be dumb down. I will look up this thing, Aces and Eights.
