Disappointed with this book. It could have been a great story but the writing is ultimately shallow and flat and the protagonist is a dumb, arrogant, unlikeable bitch. I've been wishing she would just die in the arena already...
I haven't read a good book in this genre since The Light Bearer and that was forever ago.
Anyone know of any other exceptional novels set in ancient Rome or thereabouts?
