Were running out of oil (As in, the max production level will peak and it will get harder to get more out of the ground, where our society model is about neverending growth and expansion. Prices will rise dramatically as a consequence of that)
Climate change might be so disastrous that running out of oil will seem like a small problem once it gets into overdrive. They give Venus as an example of runaway greenhouse effect where temperature on the ground is around 450 degrees celcius. We might even not run out of oil before were done fatally stacking the cards against us pumping all that CO2 into the atmosphere.
Cities are by definition a collection of humans that are consuming more resources than are available locally
Were destroying the planet we are dependent on for our sustenance
There are powerful persons who work to put cultural blinders on people so this is hard to see
This is going to mean trouble, soon
