For example, Jesus was supposed to teach us Ascension, yet he is a symbol of torture, pain, and suffering for a pure and idealistic way of being. There are a lot of lost and buried and obscured images and stories about him which the "church" doth not want people to see and experience because of dogma handed down generation after generation.

Our spiritual history is not what you've been lead to believe in your lifetime via a school system developed in the 1900's and a Church fallen from grace.
It is what it is and it is that way because we've neglected the important loving and matriarchal aspects of our species. No one really knows when this happened and it's all pretty much pure speculation. What we do know is when and how certain events happened and how things can be changed, re-interpreted and used for good.
