no i'm not kidding, and you said it's better yourself so not sure what you're implying
the biggest reason it's better here is, on live you went through an animation (like 8-10 seconds worth, cant remember exact time) and at the end of that you kicked. the fear check was done on that kick. here it's instant when you button press
secondly, on live the mob ran away at top speed. here it has a small snare effect meaning it is easy to keep up with it
