Huge difference between being offended and pointing out that something is distasteful and counter productive. Sorry you don't get that. Not all of us are self absorbed psychopaths who spend our free time watching gore on 4chan and have been "hardened" by the interwebs. I get that it's "cool" to some to not give a fuck about anyone or anything in 2014, but there's lots of us out there that don't espouse that view.
