Comparing eq pvp to daoc pvp is like comparing checkers to chess.
Of course you dont need accomodations like stick when you have 1 major ability as a melee (autoattack) in Everquest. You have more melee abilities in daoc than a caster has spells in everquest, and each of them require being not only right on top of your opponent, but being executed from a certain position (front/side/back) and in the right order for combos. Not only that, but it was designed for mass pvp from the ground up taking into account that with dozens of different players particle effects on your screen, being a melee and executing combos would become next to impossible.
